Telford MP Shaun Davies has stepped up his campaign to tackle ongoing Royal Mail delivery problems by writing directly to Royal Mail Chief Executive Alistair Cochrane, demanding urgent action to improve services across Telford. The latest intervention comes after Shaun received a fresh wave of complaints from constituents reporting continued delays and missed deliveries. Residents have told him they are still not receiving important post on time, including NHS appointment letters, hospital correspondence, and other time-sensitive mail.
Shaun Davies said: “Residents across Telford continue to tell me that they are still either not reciveing post or there are long delivey times and it is simply not good enough. When people are waiting for NHS letters, important documents, or essential correspondence, delays can have a real impact on their lives. I have raised these concerns repeatedly and I will continue to press Royal Mail for answers and urgent action until residents see the reliable service they deserve.”
The letter to the Royal Mail CEO follows months of campaigning on the issue, with Shaun previously raising residents’ concerns with Ministers and Ofcom. In his latest intervention, he makes clear that the current level of service is unacceptable and calls on Royal Mail to set out what immediate steps it will take to restore a reliable postal service for Telford.
Shaun is also encouraging anyone who continues to experience problems with their post to contact his office (shaun.davies.mp@parliament.uk) or his online form, which has so far been completed by over 400 residents. Their experiences will help build the evidence ahead of further discussions with Royal Mail and strengthen the case for lasting improvements for local residents.
